This charging kit uses a 13 pin trailer socket on your vehicle to charge the Ifor Williams Tipping Trailer battery.
We designed this kit because their is no provision for charging off the vehicle on a tipping trailer, resulting in flat a flat battery after only a few ‘full load’ tips.
It can be fitted to any tipping trailer with a similar layout.
It uses the 13 pin socket on the vehicle to provide an ignition or constant feed, which is protected from back feeding and has a 20A fuse.
The kit can be installed onto a 7 pin or 13 pin tipping trailer.
Their are two kits depending on where the Britax trailer wiring box with spade terminals is located.
- For a trailer with the wiring box at the rear please purchase the Ifor Williams Trailer wiring kit – Socket version.
- For a trailer with the wiring box on the front passenger side of the chassis please purchase the Ifor Williams Trailer wiring kit – Spade terminal kit.
The socket version kit comes with a double ended plug in 13 core cable, so it can be removed from the trailer if stored near animals so that it doesn’t get chewed, this may require you to cut your existing cable and install the supplied socket if you do not already have a 13 pin socket fitted on or near the front cross member.
The pictures show a socket version we installed on a 12 ft , and fixed the socket onto the trailer by drilling it, however your kit will come with a mounting plate for the socket, so you can bolt it on if you wish.
Please note: This kit will not work with a 7 pin socket on your vehicle with a 13 pin converter installed, it has to have a 13 pin socket installed on the vehicle with the extra +ve and -ve feed wires.
