ELP Engineering were asked to provide a low cost electro-hydraulic radio control system for the ProFencer wire netting dispenser which is a unique stock fencing unrolling and tensioning machine designed specifically for installing and tensioning 500 metre long rolls of wire netting.
The Profencer was designed by Allan Froggatt, a professional fencing contractor.
The remote control was needed to provide the operator with the ability to control the functions from the tractor cab while unrolling the netting, but also to make adjustments from up to 300 metres away as the operator walked back along the fence line checking the position and tension of the fence.
After discussing the requirements with the manufacturer and machine owners/operators, we developed a remote control system to be installed on the machine when ordered, or retrofitted onto an existing machine.
Allan has two machines, the Professional and the Junior, both of which have remote control options, with the Professional having a 300 metre range and the Junior having a 60 metre range as standard.
ELP Engineering provided the complete engineering design service, including the safety analysis, radio and hydraulic specification, wiring harnesses, brackets and fixings, and installation and operator manuals. We have supported ProFencer since Lamma 2017.
